This modern two level house in Cottesloe, Australia, is a spacious prefab home for a family of four. Each of its ten modules was constructed in a factory in Melbourne and assembled on site in just one day. The architects at Modscape designed the home according to passive design principles, and the project's open plan layout brings natural light to the most secluded corners of its interior. The house was designed for a family of four, who have recently moved to Australia from Switzerland. Despite its simple and unobtrusive front façade, dominated by a vertical timber screen, the house boasts large spaces with pool access and a double height internal courtyard. The building houses four bedrooms, study areas, an openplan living area with kitchen and dining, external undercover deck, a spacious garage and a storage area for bikes and water toys. It is organized over two levels, with bedrooms, bathrooms, laundry and a study situated on the ground floor, while living areas occupy the first floor. One internal and one external staircase connect the two levels and provide access to the pool and backyard.
