Outdoorclothing company aether apparel has just opened their new 'hayes valley store'hosted by the proxy project in san francisco, california. designed by localpractice envelope A+D in collaboration with chris french metal, the projectconsists of three standard - 8-foot by 9.6-foot by 40-foot - shippingcontainers stacked on top of one another and offset slightly. the cantileveringsection is cut out and encased in glass to create a striking element hoveringabove the main entrance. reclaimed oak floors break up the otherwise industrialmetal character of the materials, complete with a conveyor belt that penetratesall three floors constantly rotating perched articles of clothing throughoutall the spaces.
