Koby Cottage has a rooftop deck, a contemporary interior finished with light wood, and an exterior clad with weathered cor-ten steel.

It’s the first structure built using the Kullman Frame System developed by Kullman Buildings Corp., an entity wrapped up with XSite Modular and the much discussed Atlantic Yards prefab project. KFS is a light, welded, factory-produced frame chassis similar to the trellis frame on a Ducati motorcycle.

KFS has hollow tubular steel that supports large window openings and cantilevers in the Koby Cottage, according to Garrison Architects. The same frame can be used to stack modules up to twelve (12) stories high using a patented connection system.

模块化制作后，钢结构和集装箱的区别不大了，都是综合应用在一起了。

是啊。感觉集装箱的宽度太小限制了很多，很多客户的要求都只能用钢结构去实现。

各有优缺点。
钢结构的钢材与集装箱的钢材不同，耐腐蚀性也不一样。
集装箱的特点是在有限的空间内随意的组合，而钢结构最开始仍然要搭建一个大体的框架，集装箱在框架这方面已经超过钢结构了。
集装箱是环保型的，可以用二手的来用，已经达到废物利用的良好循环。
至于宽度，可以两个集装箱并在一起实现宽度要求。
两种建筑方式各有优缺点，能够一起搭配使用，是比较完美的解决方案。
